SOUTHEND MUSICAL FESTIVAL
Registered Charity Number: 283503
Affiliated to the British and International Federation of Festivals of which Her Majesty the Queen is Patron
It is with great sadness that the Southend Musical Festival committee have decided to cancel the 2020 festival in its entirety. In these unprecedented times we look to support the government in urging the country in non-critical gatherings & movement. With this in mind, it makes what would normally be a busy time of committee meetings and planning near on impossible. We will update you to confirm when the next AGM will be held (due May 2020) as this has also been postponed. We are currently working on updating the website and we will continue to work on bringing you another fantastic festival for 2021.

The Festival makes every effort to schedule classes outside of school hours for those of secondary school age. We would like to stress, however, that visits to the Festival are widely acknowledged to be valuable educational experiences and would encourage those in a position to grant leave of absence from school to regard them as such.
The Festival’s links with the local Music Hub, together with its designation as a Learning Destination under the auspices of the new Children’s University scheme, provide further and substantial evidence of the educational nature attributed to the Festival.
If you would like details of the classes that are available to enter, please refer to the CURRENT SYLLABUS pages.
You can then complete an ENTRY FORM online.
There are many ways in which you can SUPPORT THE FESTIVAL – by helping as a VOLUNTEER, becoming a subscribing FRIEND,by SPONSORING A CLASS, or by making a DONATION. Details of all of these options can be found on this website.
